The Compras.gov.br app now lists tenders and sends phone alerts: what it covers and what it leaves out

Under notice 40/26, procurement processes are now also published in the Compras.gov.br app, with alerts by supply line. The app already takes bids, direct-purchase price offers and qualification documents. Here is how to set it up and where it does not reach.

What the government announced

On 24 September 2026 the Federal Government Procurement Portal published notice 40/26. Procurement processes are now also published in the Compras.gov.br app. Publication on PNCP (the National Public Procurement Portal) and in the Federal Official Gazette continues.

According to the notice, suppliers get a phone alert when an opportunity matching their supply line is published, and can check history, send information and follow processes from the phone. To use it, download the app from the official stores, sign in with a gov.br account and allow notifications.

What you can do in the app

The app's official page lists what suppliers can do:

  • Register in Sicaf, the federal supplier registry, with the CNPJ or CPF. The company needs an active registration with Receita Federal to finish.
  • Submit bids in electronic direct purchases, electronic pregão, electronic concorrência and electronic contests.
  • Send price offers from the app in electronic direct purchases.
  • Follow evaluation and qualification, with negotiation, chat and attachment upload when the supplier is called.
  • Filter by region, state, city and supply line, and download the tender notice.

Two things to watch before trusting the alert

The alert depends on the supply line. Without at least one line selected, the app shows no processes and sends no notifications. If the line you pick is too narrow, purchases in your field can go by without a warning. Review your lines after a few days of use.

The second is anyone charging to register you. In notice 38/26 of 3 September 2026, the Ministry of Management warned about websites offering Sicaf supplier registration irregularly. Use the government's own system, in the app or on the web.

What the app does not reach

The app follows processes run in the Compras.gov.br system, used by the federal government and agencies that joined it. Many states and cities buy through other platforms.

Law 14,133/2021, article 54, requires the full tender notice and annexes to be published on PNCP. That is why PNCP is where purchases from every level of government meet, with a sources and platforms filter showing where each came from. If you sell to cities or states, you need to look beyond the app.
